The general idea (or myth?) that a lot of people gave me about VTEC was that it acted like some kind of turbo. The first VTEC ride I ever got was on a S2000, and believe me, the car flies past 6000 RPM. Also, a lot of thread about RSXer at www.clubrsx.com describe VTEC like a surge of power and noise when VTEC engages. They also describe the VTEC of a GS-R being more severe than a RSX type-s:/ My assumption was based on that.
