I didn't read all the other posts.
I've noticed lots of people getting the whistle with a K&N cone filter. I have a generic intake and have no whistle just short ram intake sounding goodness. My friends AEM short ram w/ K&N cone whistled a lot and sounded like a BOV when he shifted. So that's my deduction.
