um.. You will need new shocks if you get the skunk2 coilovers, they suck. Get ground controlls and you will be okay on the shocks you have now. At least for a while. As far as difficulty installing them... It depends if you know what you are doing. It took me about an hour and a half to do them on my integra and the suspension is the same setup as the civic. If you haven't ever done them before, it might take up to 3 hours, maybe more depending on what tools you have.
