If you try to rev it like a B16, yes. Something in the bottom end will go. The B18A/B bottom was not ment to rev over 6500-6800, depending on year.

Build the bottom end, and use a crank girdle. (modify a B18C to fit or buy one from Z10 engineering)

Oh, and yes. A properly assembled LS/VTEC is a crazy beast.
