What do regular maintaince include?

I'll i have done to my car was oil change and brake jobs since i've gotten my car.

I've gotten it a year ago with 117k miles on it, it now has 131k and the tranny broke. I am aware that the Timing belt should be change at 90k miles but i have no idea if the previous owner had change the belt and the waterpump.
