same thing happned to me a few weeks ago. rookie thiefs pry'd the windo open, and popped the door and hood and took off the battery, porbably to stop the stock alarm (if it went off at all).
The condition i found my car (98 Acura EL) was the window seal all jacked up, the ignition cover taken off and the entire steering column was pushed up into the dash, and the tilt was broke. the igniton was taken apart, and the obviosly tried to use a screwdriver in the ignition, but the ECU demobilizer kept it from starting.
The worst part about the deal is that the idiots broke the steering wheel straight off it's column. it was still attached but just stun around and round. SO, that made backing it onto a towtruck an adventure, since it was parked with the wheels cranked and no way to turn them back. In the end it was fixed, on the insurance's tab, with my $500 deductible. The total fix was $720 plus 10 days of rental.
