Yea, Fastball, you can't dwell on the past. All you can do it look to the future and the best way to PREVENT that from happening again, is to realize WHY these people hate us, and try and resolve it like that. If we get dragged into this for years and years, we'll be in the same situation the Palestinians and Israelis are in. We'll have more terrorist attacks and we'll be forced to send more troops overseas. It's a no win situation.
So then what do you propose we do? Just sit back and relax? Kick our feet up and say "well, that's in the past. Let's forget and move on. If we don't bother anyone, no one will bother us"? I'm not dwelling on the past, but I am using 9/11 as the motivation to rid the world of all the maniacs. Bush has won alot of respect for his concept of a new world order, where the options are pretty much accept democracy or face the consequences. He's the first President I can remember who stepped to the plate to address the entire mid-east situation. Clinton tried, but these animals don't abide by handshakes and treaties. I don't know where some people have been, but much of the mid-east is now seriously shaking in their towels. We crumbled a regime they thought would give us serious problems in one month. We have eliminated that regime's lifeblood, that being Hussein's sons, and now that has happened, Iran, while not very public about it, is very worried. As well they should be. See, this is the time we go all out. They started this freaking mess, and by God we're gonna finish it. We've got the power, the people, and the guns to do it. As far as I'm concerned, the fighting that has gone on since biblical times is gonna come to an end one way or another. And if 9/11 was the catalyst, so be it. I know I sound like some good 'ole boy, but that's how I feel it has to be.
