My God you are ignorant. For you to say 9/11 is over and done is about the worst thing for anyone to say. If anything we are underusing it. You and sxecrow seem to forget that was an attack on innocent civilians and not a militarty vs military strike.
actually, september 11th, 2001 is over and done with. It was done on september 12th.
underusing it? so what do you propose? we just send our troops to every nation we deem 'a threat' and to eleminate every administration we deem 'evil'?
easier said then done. especially since we are but one nation in a world full of people with different cultures, ideas, veiws, desires, etc.
We are now poised to locate any suspect nation which may be a threat to us or any other free country.
and spreading ourselves thin in the prossess.
This is a war which will take years
so bush can stay in office (and I say that not only because he's bush. I'm sure any prez in office then would have done the same thing. And I'm sure I would be disagreing with their policies as much as I do now)
and there probably won't be a decisive point of victory.
so we're fighting a war with no end? great.....
Every day we can go without us or our friends getting hit like that is one more small victory, for sure.
you know, if this country kept to its own affiars, and didn't meddle with other countrys in the prossess, maybe we wouldn't get 'hit'
But to say that we should get on with things and forget 9/11, damn you're wrong.
your absolutly right.
no one will ever forget september 11th, 2001.
thats the day the world changed, and not nessisarly for the better.
We have an obligation for freedom to take whatever measures we need to.
say's who? God?
As far as whether they are reactive, they sure are. That attack on us was an attack on all freedom, by anyone against freedom, not just AlQeda or BinLaden.
who said bin laden was against freedom?
his cause is not because he loaths americana, and our culture. It's because we meddle in other countrys affairs for our own benifits, all the while not carring about what costs may incur.

It's really sick that you can just forget about 9/11 and just move on like nothing happened. 9/11/01 and 12/7/41 are just as equally decisive moments in history.
actually, I think you may be right.
We knew both were going to happen, but we did nothing to stop it.
The difference is Japan played by the rules of war, and the 18 hijackers didn't.
actually, its 19 hijackers.
and there's no rules in war.
So now the game is different, for sure. Throw the rules out the window.
our govenrment is pretty good at that, arn't they?

Why should a large terrorist attack by one network (Al Queda), give Bush the power to start any wars he wants, against any nations for no reason, bypassing all international law.
it shouldn't, logiclly. But bush and logic are oil and water.
but wait, america is the apex of superpowers. So that means we must abuse are position in the world to insure our security, while not giving a shit about other countrys security.
And Dems shouldnt have to cater to Bush just because he was in office during 9/11. No one should have that much power, no good can come of it.
there's a reason the president shouldn't have that much power. At that point, he becomes either a king or a dictator.

Sounds like everyone wants to forget 9/11...... you know, that footage should be played once a week, on every Tuesday. Then mabe you won't forget it.
NONE OF US FUCKING FORGOT!!! UNLESS YOU WERE NOT ALIVE ON THAT FUCKING DAY, THERE IS NO WAY YOU'LL EVER FORGET!!!!
who's the ignorant one?

I don't think anyone will ever forget it, it was a traumatic experience for the American people. But its being used by the Bush administration as an All-access pass to do whatever the hell they want. They even tried to play on the American publics 9/11 emotions to go to war with Iraq by trying to link Iraq and Al-Queda. Hell, a recent survey even showed that more then 50% of the American Public believes that the Hijackers were Iraqis and Saddam Hussien was directly responsible.
actually, that statistic used to sit in the upper 80's

Yea, Fastball, you can't dwell on the past. All you can do it look to the future and the best way to PREVENT that from happening again, is to realize WHY these people hate us, and try and resolve it like that. If we get dragged into this for years and years, we'll be in the same situation the Palestinians and Israelis are in. We'll have more terrorist attacks and we'll be forced to send more troops overseas. It's a no win situation.
110% concurance, and then some.
