I never was in the military. Much of my family was, and is. My cousin's husband got back from Afghanistan in October and was shipped to Iraq in Feb. My opinion is that we support the troups and the President in a time of war. This is a time of war. I think we have to realize we are all in it together, and whether you agree with the President or not, you should support him because he is leading our country through tough times, and I think we're getting through it allright. I can tell you for sure that on Dec. 6, 1941, the Republicans were still not very friendly with FDR, just like the Dems are today with Bush. But they put party differences asside on Dec. 7. Now, the Dems put party differences asside a little after 9/11. But not as much as they should have. To this day, they should be giving the President everything he wants, and then some. Infinite solidarity. I guess they just don't have the fortitude.
You're comparing an attack made 60 years ago by a foriegn NATION, which was bound to happen anyway, against the US to us now leading a pre-emptive strike against a 2nd world nation that has done nothing to threaten American citizens and could not fight back, with most of the world protesting it. You should support the troops by not putting them in harms way when we dont need to. Bush's job has been OSAMA BIN LADEN. What did Saddam do to us? Seriously? Last I checked, Osama wasn't spelled I.R.A.Q.
Come on man, I know you can make a stronger point than that.
Besides, the link provided in the first place could mean anything. Hell ... if they come in my apt, they'll find styrofoam and assume "If he had gasoline, he coulda made NAPALM." Give me a break ... having materials to make a weapon, doesn't mean you are. That's not proof, a smoking gun, or even a loaded gun. Hell, who knows .... that was probably doctored up as much as Lynches "rescue" or even planted there by the CIA in the first place! LOL
