lol, yes timing could be a problem, timing guns are pretty basic, you should be able to figure it out, if you just got the car I would go ahead and replace the cap and rotor button and spark plugs, possibly the spark plug wires, but I doubt it. If that doesn't fix it make sure your timing is correct and if its not that then replace your fuel filter
