Whats a good weight for 18 in rims? Or a rim/tire combo. Does the tire weigh anywhere near as much as a rim does?
Thanks

Haha, wheel weight makes better sense.
Well, one general guideline is that if a wheel weighs less in lbs than it's diameter, it's considered "lightweight". From what I've seen though, it's hard to find lots of lightweight wheels in 18. I guess cause if you are going for lightweight, you aren't going to get 18s.
Your tantrums in 18x7.5 weigh 23.2lbs. Not real heavy, not real light. Mine are about the same...24.0lbs.
So basically your wheel is 23, your tire is 20.
Forged SSR comps are about the lightest I've seen in 18x7.5 at 14.5lbs. Most all the lightweight 18x7.5 are forged, spendy, and unless can be custom drilled, won't work on our lug pattern.
Anything forged is gonna be money, and the lighter cast wheels I've seen in 18x7.5 don't get any lighter than 18lbs. Whether it's worth it to get new wheels for 5lbs less each corner is up to you. Personally, for what I use my car for, 24lbs does the job.
If you really want lightweight, the easiest and cheapest way is to downsize to 16s or 17s.
