Dealers dont get reimbursed as much for warranty work as they do when you foot the bill.
Since I have no idea what a dash kit is or does, I apologize if I was too strong. My only point was that if you mess with anything remotely related to a warranted item, you run the risk of voiding the warranty. If a dealer can find a reasonable excuse not to cover a repair, then I wouldn't be surprised if he took that approach.
