I just went through this with my car. Replaced the original Bridgestone RE92's with Yokahama AVS dB S's. These are rated quite highly by tirerack.com. I was thinking about getting the Pirelli Supersport P7000, but they were out of stock and many people commented that they were quite NOISEY. The Yokahama's are all season radials but are a little different size than the original equipment. They are 205/55 x 16 W speed rated, instead of 205/50 x 16 V speed rated.
I've had the tires on the car now for a couple of weeks and I'm very happy with them. They are quiet, there is virtually NO road noise at all anymore and the ride is great, I feel like I'm riding on 4 pillows. At the same time the steering response and accuracy are better than before and I'm sure the overall handling is better than with the Bridgestones. These are just under $100 a piece from tirerack. There were only compliments and no complaints listed in the users review portion of tirerack.
These tires are supposed to be very good in the rain also.
My general comments would be: ride and quiteness much beter than the original tires, steering response is better, overall handling at least as good (haven't really pushed the car so far), superior traction and braking in the rain. High speed dtability is much better than the original eqipment tires too. I drove 80 mph on the interstate and it feels like I'm riding on rails, 80 mph used to feel like a just comfortable crusing speed for the Prelude. Now it feels too slow.
Only down side is that they are not availabel in the original 205/50 x 16 size.
