China has a large army...they have a much smaller, and poorer trained, airforce and navy, and they have 12 nuclear ICBMs. China cannot do anything to the US militarily...they could not get enough troops over to America to take it over and if they tried they would be sitting ducks in the ocean for the Pacific fleet.
Besides we are China's #1 consumer...China is not that stupid to bite the hand that is feeding it.
And if China was so great and powerful and the US is "powerless" to stop them as you have clearly implied, why has China not invaded Taiwan? Because they know they cannot win against the US and will loose all they have gained in the international communtity in the past 10 years of modernization.
we don't have to worry about china.
we have to worry about north korea.
and they have nukes.
1. & 2. I agree...North Korea has more to gain from starting a war than China...it is those that have nothing to loose that I fear the most.
3. If they do it may be an untested bomb...until we see NK properly execute a test of a nuclear weapon we don't even know if it is going to work.
And as for the political right... where are the WMD? I'm still waiting.
When they are found you will be able to see them. He still has biological and chemical weapons we knew he had that are still unacountable. Saddam had 12 years to hide them...I am not surprised they have not turned up in 4 months. Besides country is still not safe yet...once it is more resources can be shifted to finding the WMD.
