some cars run fine with 87 but better and smoother with higher octane, you wont feel anything goin from 87 to 91..but i think from 87 to 94 yes you will...and some higher compression ones like the vtec engines require 91 octane. hope this helps.
19hp? no way on a stock or lightly modded engine. One would have to have some serious tunning and mods to see the difference on a dyno with stock gas.
I've worked on a lot of cars and race gas will help at the track, but again, don't expect any major differences in performance on stock pump gas with stock cars.
