your filter looks like it is exposed to alot of crap from the opening in the bumper. i would be very careful when behind someone in a rainstorm so that their spray doesn't send enough water in to mess up your motor. what i would do is make a sheild for that filter out a windsheild washer fluid bottle. cut a hole in the bottom to fit the pipe through and trim it down so it blocks water from hitting that side of the filter.
