I asked this same question a while ago myself...and the awnsers i got were that you are fine as long as the filter is not submerged in water, the only time to be worried is if you go through places where there are deep puddles or somthing.
Thanks dude, I was wonder what was up, I pretty much drive this car in nice weather anyway unless the weather just happens to come out of nowhere of course, good thing I got a beater for the winter time.
