I say this for multiple reasons.
1) If I have the choice, I always use the "Aw" over "Aye", because "Aye" sounds to redneck American for me. Like the name Anna, I always say it like "Awnna", not "Ann-ah"
2) HS German class. That's just the way A's are in German, it kinda bled over into my English.
when speaking words, "aw/ah" is more fluid than "aye" i agree, but these are nothing but 3 individual letters, not a word. thats like asking to recite the english alphabet and you say "ah, bee, see, dee, etc" thats retarded.
