I believe (talking from the closest religion of christianity - islam), World was created in 7 "steps" not days. People take religious books too literally.

My own view is that God initiated the start (big bang?) and then evo kicked in. God created fixed rules and everything has their destiny except MAN. Man is the only one who has a choice to be whatever it wants to be. Everything in the world (possibly in universe) follows a life that is choosen for them. For example, ducks know how to swim the sec they hatch, and they know their predators. Humans on the other hand, learn every thing by themselves and absolutly know nothing when born. Humans choose the life of their own.
