Allowing same-sex marriage would obviously not be the government forcing it upon say, the Catholic church or something. It would just mean that two people of the same sex would be able to legally classify their relationship as a marriage in the same fashion which two people of opposite sexes are able to.

Marriage in this country aside from all the religion stuff is a legal procedure which doesn't have to be performed by a member of any denomination's clergy. The government gives those religious types the legal authority to conduct marriages, but it's just as simple for people to go to their local courthouse and fill out some paperwork.

Personally if two dudes want to play a game of butt darts that's their own business and I'm not one to say they should or shouldn't do it.
