dude, I say go for it. I thought about this too alot....I mean screw in-dash dvd player...when you could have dvd/cd/mp3(PLAYLISTS,PLAYLISTS,PLAYLISTs)/emulators(gen,snes,arcade,you name it),avi's(movies, not dvd), **** hook it up to your car and tune your ride with it F&F style!!!
it would be seriously bad-ass to just have a anti-shock pc dvd-rom(maybe even a burner) in your dash and a big ass monitor...wouldn't matter what disc you put it there, it would read it...and mount a touch-pad somewhere to work the mouse...make a custom fast-boot operating system too. that would rock
..oh yeah, wireless internet when you are in your driveway so you could transfer new shit you downloaded right to your ride.
