Understand your reasoning, except for two things: 1) A car with as much hp & torque as a CL-S shouldn't be affected by the a/c kicking in. 2) Most people only have the problem in the 1st 5 minutes of operation when cold, usually just once, and then it goes away until the next cold operation. Oops, make that three things -- the a/c is belt driven & takes zero current to operate. On a low hp motor it's the power required to drive the belt when the a/c clutch starts that causes a reduction in available hp.
Mine has been like this since new (27,000K now) and doesn't get worst or better, it just is.
When you turn the A/C on, it puts a load on the charging/electrical system. If you don't believe me, go get a volt meter and take a reading at idle with no A/C on. It would probably read somewhere between 12-14 volts. Turn the A/C on and you'll probably see it drop to 10-12 volts for a few seconds and then it will return to normal.
