Seems like you can use just springs and save yourself the money if you really want that drop really really bad. You don't seem to want to full-out race your car or take turns extremely fast.

I have 1.5" Eibach Pro-kits and they haven't killed my shocks yet and I let women drive my car. The Prokits seem perfect in your situation because they give you the drop without the bounciness of most springs and you can still clear most all driveways, etc. Which is very important as you will find out later.
