It isn't any noisier with the K&N filter in since it is simply a replacement filter and not an airbox modification.
The only real advantages are better airflow and washable filter.....now if you cut out the bottom of your resonator box at the same time then it will be louder and almost identical to a CAI.
exactly. i have one on my 94 EX. no noise difference & no noticeable hp gain, but it never needs replaced.
