Default Wiper blade motor - 2nd time!

Help! Last year I took my '06 Civic to the dealer because the wipers didn't work correctly in cold weather...it was February 08 when I went.

Now, a year later the problem has resurfaced. I went back to the dealer and they want to charge me $100 to diagnose since I'm out of warranty. I feel they should fix it at no charge...the problem only occurs in cold weather. Maybe after the fix last year I didn't know it wasn't done properly because it didnt' get cold enough??

The service bulletin indicates if the car is out of warranty they can extend some kind of courtesy and repair it but this dealer won't do that.

Be more specific as to the problem.

Wipers keep going even when in the "off" position. Wipers go back/forth 6 times before stopping when in the "intermittent position"...wipers go back/forth 5-6 times before stopping when turned to the "off" position.

Also, wipers stop at different spots on the windshield instead of where they should be when turned off.

I went to a different dealer. The service Mgr called the district Mgr and got me a one time "courtesy" on the repair since my car is out of warranty.

I think they are going to replace the motor again.

cool but you should have them check not the motor but the park switch which is one of your toggle switch inside your car.
hope the new motor works.
take care
