Default check engine light fault trouble codes list

I found this on the net so I don't know if it's correct or not.

Before you can start reading the CEL (check engine light) in your dash, you need to 'jump' your ecu. Here's how.

Located the factory two-pin connector of brown and black wires near the ECU on Civics del Sols and Integra's, or behind the center console for Preludes and Accords. Pull that 2-pin out of the main harness. Using a wire or paper clip as a jumper, connect the outputs of the harness together, so that the black wire and the brown wire make a circuit. Once this is jumped together, the dash will start the light show, so its a good idea to jump first, then turn to on.

For 88-91 Honda's and 86-93 Acura's:

The ECU's on these cars actually have a neat little window right on the computer case. No need to jump here- just turn it to on, and watch it right there through that window.

For both steps above, the output will be in a Morse code style of long and short lights. Every long equals 10 and each short is 1. For example, 2 long and 3 short is 23.

Some details have changed over the years. The connector on my '95 Integra is buried up between the glovebox & the right kickpanel. Our '98 Accord doesn't seem to have that connector, but it's got an OBD-2 connector (for a scan tool) left of the steering column.

I didn't look thru the entire list, but the couple I glanced at looked consistant with my cars.

where did you get this information? and for codes 21, 22, and 23....when you mention the 98 accord, do you mean the 6th gen or the 5th gen?

It's actually listed on an Italian Accord website, I don't remember which one but I look at them also because I can read/write/speak Italiano. It was posted there in English so it was probably taken from another site but I didn't see a credit noted.

Please don't ask "do you mean" because as I said when originally posted, I didn't write it and don't know if it's correct I just posted it because I hoped it would help others.

i knew that, but it's weird that they didn't mention 99, 00, or 01 accords when they're all 6th gens also.

I have a CEL on an '88 Accord LXi. The car runs great, but it comes on and stays on until you turn the car off and restart it. Then it stays off for awhile and comes on again.
1. Does any one know here to pull the codes for it, where is the connector?
2. What are the codes? Where can I get them?
3. It just passed emissions inspection with flying colors, so it couldn't be the O2 sensor could it?
4. In the book it says it's the injection system. It runs fine though.

Wow, this post is 3 years old

When we had the '90 Accord back then and I was troubleshooting this, I found a PDF file (don't remember where) that contains the information you've asked (where the connector is, how to read the codes, and what the codes mean).

I just checked my files and it's still on my computer. I'm willing to share this but a PDF file attachment is not allowed here. I tried to save it to a ZIP file, which is allowed here, but it's 1.1 MB and that's too big to be uploaded.

If someone knows how I can upload this somewhere I will post it but I'm not willing to send it out via email to the many many many requests that I know I'd get (so don't even ask), that would just take too much time/effort.

Let me know where I can post it for download and everyone can get it.
