Default Idle Question

I've just replaced the engine in a 1991 Integra with a used 1.8 out of a wrecking yard. The engine in the Integra had thrown a rod when I got the car, so I don't know how it ran before. The problem I have is that the idle speed constantly varies from about 800 to 1800 rpm. It runs through this cycle about every 3-5 seconds. Any ideas?

Sounds like an EACV problem. Do you still have the old engine? Try swapping the EACV and see if that helps.

I haven't been able to find a vacuum leak, that's what I thought it was. It gets a check engine after about 15 min of driving. I don't have the old engine anymore (it's actually my nephew's car) but may be able to get to it at the wrecking yard.

Well, what code is the ECU showing? That will tell you in a hurry what needs to be fixed.

Does the Integra have a self-test mode? If so, how do I access it?
