I've just replaced the engine in a 1991 Integra with a used 1.8 out of a wrecking yard. The engine in the Integra had thrown a rod when I got the car, so I don't know how it ran before. The problem I have is that the idle speed constantly varies from about 800 to 1800 rpm. It runs through this cycle about every 3-5 seconds. Any ideas?
I haven't been able to find a vacuum leak, that's what I thought it was. It gets a check engine after about 15 min of driving. I don't have the old engine anymore (it's actually my nephew's car) but may be able to get to it at the wrecking yard.
