Default Spark Plug wires: When to change them...

How long should you keep the original spark plug wires before you change them?

I'm still using the original spark plug wires that came with my 00 civic and my car has almost 85,000.

Should I change them?

It can't hurt, just stay OEM. Are any of the boots cracked, worn jackets??

They should be fine. You replace them when the rubber cracks, they rip apart during removal, the insulation cracks and allows the spark to arc to the engine or chassis, or they measure over the resistance spec with a multimeter.

(Try getting zapped by a cracked spark plug wire, its exactly like a stun gun.)
