Default Civic that overheats

Well yea my civic is overheating if i drive for awhile, and the engine service light comes on. If you floor it you wont' be able to go above 25 mph and it makes a reving noise. I don't know whats going on. Do i need a new tranny? anything will help thanks

Yes get the code if you can, that way we can help you out more. If you are overheating, let's get it fixed right away since you don't want to prolong overheating to your engine. Do you know how to check for the codes? If not, let us know.

Sounds serious, I wouldn't drive it 'till you get that one figured out. Is it leaking water anywhere? Be sure to look at the side of the oil pan under the belts. Timing could be way off. Head gasket could be fried. Or just a thermosat among other things...

Could be blown head gasket. Or worse cracked head. Are you loosing any coolant?
