1989 Legend
My 1989 Legend seems to have no power steering, at higher speeds it becomes a bit easier to steer, but not much. Just bought the car fo my other half. I have an 1988 that seems to be making some noise lately when I drive it.I was thinking it may be the lifter?? Anyone wit Legends out there have similar experiences?/ And any info as to how to fix it? My girl ain't too happy about the armstrong steering.

lifter tick is nothing, all G1's suffer from it, nothing is being damaged. my legend has almost 300,000 miles on it, and has had the lifter tick since 200,000 miles, dont fret.
at higher speeds, you dont move the steering wheel much, the system automatically shuts off after like 30 or 40 mph, its just not needed. i drove from houston to san antonio (180 miles), with zero power steering, it was a pain when in the city and taking turns, but not a problem when on the freeway.
