New Acura / Honda oil filters?

so i went down to the dealership to grab some oil filters. i went to the shelf and couldnt find the one i normally used. so i asked the guy and he pointed me to a shelf full of smaller "newer" filters. i was like he explained to me that honda is making more "universal" filters or something like that. so then i asked him since the filters were so much smaller, would it increase the oil pressure too much. he said, no...and said something about higher oil pressure might be good anyway.

me being a lil confused because i know jack about oil pressure...i bought 2 of them.

i just wanted some feedback from you guys. i figure that honda wouldnt produce something that would fuk my engine up so... i noticed the filter is made by honeywell and is from canada.

here are some pics next to a traditional sized school ID.

The new ones are made by Fram. Fram is a steaming piece of shit that I would not put on my car. The solution? The Toyo Roki S2000 oil filter, aka the HAMP...

The old Honda filters were made by Filtech and were good filters.

which confuses me as to why Honda moved to Fram here in the states...

As long as they keep supplying the 15400-PCX-004 filters, I'll be happy...

My new/small filter didn't say Fram on it anywhere...I don't recall the name that was on it, but it wasn't Fram.

Anyways, it's the same filter used on the K-series, so they are getting rid of the old filters. Last time I changed my oil, it didn't leak any out all over the header and axle like with the old filter.

It doesn't matter who makes them. They are still made to Honda specs. Personally I use a Napa Gold or Wix filter.

Oil Filters

I found this old topic while doing a search and I wanted to add something. The Newwer smaller filters are still made by Filtec and are part # 15400-PLM-A01. The other ones are made by Fram/Honeywell and are # 15400-PLM-A02.
