Do you have to press out the main bearing for that? :dunno:

Okay that's better. The easy way would be to hammer out the old lug bolts , Shave the head of the new lug bolts about half way off, then put each one in a hole, get a few oversized nuts and put them over the new lug bolts, put the lug nuts on, and tighten the lug nuts until the lug bolts seat into the hub.

The right way is to take the hub assembly off the car and press out the hub inself with a press. Doing it this way you might have to or want to replace the wheel bearing too. It's all up to if you can do it without damaging the wheel bearing race.

any questions?

WOW man! Awesome tip! I should have thought of that and I had it in mind the second you mentioned the nuts and lug bolt.

You'd have less of a chance of screwing up the wheel bearing if you could somehow hang the hub so it's facing upwards and have a hole that the stud could fall down through. That way, when you hit the stud with the hammer, the object that the hub is hanging from would take all of the impact force and you could still get the stud out through the hole.... hmmm...

Anyone know how to upload a picture I drew to the thread? It would explain my madness better.
