Hi. I think I need to change my brake pads. I have an ABS on my 2002 RSX. Is there any particular mechanical part that I need to give more attention to? I do my own brake pads replacement for my old car without ABS. Is there a big difference when changing an ABS brakes? Thanks.

I read it. I was able to replace the worn out brake pads. It was the metal stopper that was with the pad that was making the noise. The metal piece was to alert that the pad is about the wear out, less than 2mm pad life. Now the brakes are doing great.

FYI, read up on the ABS system - the only extra part on the individual brake assemblies in Hondas is a toothed wheel and a sensor

Ya, I saw that after I took off the wheel. It's by the cv boot head. I had removed the pads, used a c-clamp to push back the piston, remove the nut for the hose to have enough length, cleaned the new pads, installed new pads, checked everything nuts before I put back the wheel, started the car and add brake fluid and that was it. Test drive it and worked great. What I used to do in my old non-ABS is really bleed the line every wheel after I put in the wheel back. Thanks for the suggestions.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread. I have a stuck caliper and it has worn one pad down to the bone. Tires Plus told me the caliper piston is rifled and has to have a special tool to turn it as it is compressed. I am used to doing brakes, but haven't done ABS before. The link to the helms manual above is out of date. Is there any problem compressing this caliper with ordinary tools?
