I just got 17'' rims and i want to lower my car about a inch. what would be some good stuff, got like 4-5 hundred to spend on lowering.

any suggestions????

luckily you wont need a camber kit with just 1" drop but if you go lower (adjustable coilovers) than anything over about 1.5- 2" drop you will need a camber kit. if you dont have one, look into a nuspeed front strut bar.

are H&R Race Springs and Koni Yellows the same thing? or is that 2 different things

and im not ganna need the coil overs right? cause its only a inch drop

H&R race springs are springs...Koni yellows are struts/shocks.

You mean camber kit? If so, no you most likely wont need one for only a 1" drop. I don't know of any springs that only give a one inch drop though (H&R race springs lower you 2 inches or so).

just the Koni struts alone will set him back $400-500. that would be his whole budget with no money for springs.

but then again, the Koni's have adjustable perches. he can lower about 1/2" to 3/4" with the stock springs.

I think you are on to the right solution if $$$ are the issue. The shocks are one of the best improvements one can make. I use nothing but Koni and will suggest that they be used in this case. The alternative is to save up for a full shock/spring package. If you really need to lower the car then you should look at either the Neuspeed Sport or H&R springs.. We are using the Neuspeed Sport springs on our Konis and have no complaints. The ride height is correct for the roads we drive on as is the look. The car handles very well overall and is easy to drive for long periods of time on the interstate. The drop is gentle and there is little more to do. If the budget eventually allows for coilovers-then Ground Control or Skunk2 sleeves and matching springs can go directly on the Konis with little effort.

Just my 2 cents as a happy owner.

what if i only get ground control coil overs only???

it will work until your stock shocks blow out.

the cheapest way to correctly lower a car is to get springs and kyb's. that should be around 500 bucks. with GC's/kyb it will cost around 700.

but they are 1000 dollars?

I have some knocking noises coming from the back of my lude when i hit some bumps....im pretty sure its the shocks...but i was planning on gettin the suspension done anyways...i live in nyc so i dont really think it would be a good idea to lower it. (plus im rollin on 18s with 215/35/18 rubber which is already pushing it). Anyways Im prolly just gonna get shocks...r there springs out there that r stock ride height but stiffer(for the twistys)...so basically my question is wat r the best shocks out there for me and springs too if they got ones that r stock but stiffer? thanks

p.s. i def dont wanna do a camber kit
