Torque steer
Hey folks,
I posted this here as it was more appropriate than the Teg column. We have a fairly nasty GSR that we built and we have a JDM ITR Transaxle in it. How much torque steer is normal? Everything seems to work very well but under hard acceleration at full boost the car pulls really hard to the right and when backing off sharply it almost changes lanes to the left! If it is fairly normal for the low geared JDM ITR LSD tranny what are tricks to stabilizing it?

I must apologize to b18coupe as I reacted. I thought I asked a reasonable question and was hoping for a mature responce. I am sorry!
Thank you for the suggestion! The car has been 4 wheel alighned and rechecked. Everything (!) was rebuilt on the entire car as it was a serious project. I have considered the poly bushing's might be deflecting but I have doubts. The car launches very hard and is also stable at high speed. The only thing that doesn't seem right is the excessive torque steer. The spin marks are strange in my opinion as the drivers side is longer than the passenger side. When we went through the T-axle everything looked great! I didn't pull the diff apart completely but no gulling or wear was spotted. The T-axle only had 65k KM on it when we got it.
So, those in the know, any positive suggestions/experiances are very appreciated!

I don't have an answer for you except to say that it does not sound normal at all.
I have a fairly strong ITR (191.5 Dynojet) with a JDM axle ratio, and I don't get any appreciable torque steer at all.

Here's my thoughts.. torque steer is most prominent in cars w/no LSD.
When you say you have a JDM R transaxle, I'm assuming it is equipped w/LSD..
Why don't you check the LSD to make sure it is operational before tearing into everything? Here is the procedure from the helms..
1. Set the parking brake and block the rear wheels
2. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it with saftey stands in the proper locations
3.With the engine off, shift the transmission into 1st gear
4.Rotate either front wheel by hand, and check that the other wheel rotates in the opposite direction
5.If the opposite front wheel does not rotate, or if you cannot spin the front wheels @all, the limited slip diff is faulty and should be replaced.
If your car fails that test.. I have further info I can send to you via IM.

Wondering what tires are being used, it could be a radial pull. We had a s2000 almost do a u-turn under hard accelleration due to bad tires on the rear, they were also brand new.
