I am planning on using duplicolor spray paint to paint wheels but want to knwo if there has to be a specific primer to use on wheels? Want to use cold galvanized spray because i already have it.. This is used on steel pipes.. Does anyone see a reason why this would not be good on alloy wheels?

 

ZINKOTE – 20 is an excellent, extremely quick drying, touch-up, Zinc Metal Powder Rich Paint for COLD GALVANIZING of mild steel parts and offer ULTIMATE CORROSION RESISTANCE. Surface to be coated shall be free from oil / grease / dust / dirt / rust & other foreign matters. Promlacq-CG mainly used as highest degree of Corrosion protection applications. ZINKOTE – 20 offers a very tough bright coating & will touch dry within 2-3 Min. Over-coating, if necessary, may be done after 1 hr. This cold galvanizing coating can also be used as an undercoat as it has excellent adhesion to All types of Paints, Lacquers, Epoxies, CRPs etc. One Litre of Promlacq-CG will give 10 – 12 Meters Squares coverage and will deposit 10–15 Microns coating by single coat Spray / Dip. I've been trying out CG Diablo wheel gel and it's been working out pretty good. Safe for just about every kind of wheel, it hs 0 ph level. Just spray on, let it sit for a few mins, agitate with wheel brush a little, then rinse. Depending on how bad they are you might have to clay them, wouldn't hurt to clay them anyway.
