TSX vs. 7th gen Accord V6

For those who have owned/driven both, which would you choose? I'm leaning towards the TSX based on reviews but the Accord would have a little more power. Mileage is also a concern, which the TSX would probably win (based on reported mileages on fueleconomy.com), but it also takes premium which might offset the costs. The 8th gen Accord is a bit above my price range for now.

Any opinions?

It depends on if you're talking 6-speed Coupe or an automatic 4-door. With the issues Honda has had with the V6 auto trannies I'd stay away from them.

I do like the 4-door Accords a lot but they aren't built as well as the TSX, being that the Accord is built in America and the TSX is built in Japan.

Hmmm, I'd say I just made my decision. The 7th gen accord doesn't come in a 4 door V6 manual. I didn't know this until now. 4-door is a must as is a manual (though I've considered the auto in the TSX). Why didn't Honda put out a V6 manual sedan? What the hell? Oh well, that solves that. :D

They made V6 manual sedans in '06 and '07 model years.

Thanks for the info. I did a search on autotrader for 100 miles but none showed up so I assumed they didn't exist. Did a search for "anywhere" and a bunch popped up. I guess there just aren't any near me. Not on autotrader anyway.

an auto TSX would be a dog.

You might be able to get a good price on one though (hopefully manual) seeing as there is a full model change in a few months. Whatever is left over is going to have to go

Yeah, manual is a must. I'm leaning pretty hard toward the navi as well after all the positive reviews on it. Luckily I'm not in a hurry so I'll shop around a few months. I'm not looking at new though, I'm looking in the 16-18K mark, probably a 2004-2005 with >50K miles. We'll see.

i absolutely loved my '06 tsx. came w/ navi. id get one over an accord if you could find one for a solid price. and try to get a 2006+. they had minor updates that i think are pretty significant. stuff like bluetooth, retuned engine for more power, etc.

Thanks for the tip. I've noticed the slight improvements with the 2006 year but the price drop really hits with 2-3 year old bracket which the 2006 is barely beginning to fall in. It will still be a year or so before I make the move, maybe the prices will come down a bit by then.
