Good Deal on New TSX?

Hello all - I don't own a TSX but a good friend of mine is looking to buy one. She's not much of a message board person, so I thought I'd sign on and do some research for her.

She's looking to buy a 2004 TSX AT w/nav and we just came to an agreement at a local dealer for $27,600 (MSRP is $29,035) including destination. TTT are additional. Is this a good deal? She still has time to back out if it is not, but I thought it's a good deal because it doesn't seem that dealer's are not willing to negotiate very much on this car since they are selling like hotcakes. There was only one left on the lot today when we saw a bunch of them two weeks ago when we first test drove one.

What did some of you pay for this model? We are in the Northern Va/DC metro area. Be sure to include where you bought the car so that we can adjust for regional differences.

27,600 sounds alright with the Navi. I paid 25k but after tax it came out to around 27K. Mine's a 6MT non-navi. I bought the car at Valencia Acura here in California. Don't know if that helps much, sorry.

Thanks RK27, that does help a little. It seems they are a little bit more willing to negotiate in your area.

Come on - anyone else? I know your out there!

Picked up a TSX with Navi today for my daughter. Paid 29,500 including all fees and taxes. Tax rate is 6.5%

I wish I was your kid...

You didn't say what area you live in Richardh. After TTT our total comes out to around $28,700. I think it's a good deal and she's pretty much decided to go with it. Woohoo, I can't wait to play around with that navigation system! It's about the only thing I didn't get on my RX-8 and I wish I had . . .

if she pays less than the MSRP then she did good.

yes indeed.

just make sure she breaks in the engine right, warm it up, run it hard in high gears but only 30-80% open throttle, like gun it then coast down to 30 then fly up to 65 then coast, it helps the valve seals seat properly and cuts down on blow by, if requested i can furnish links on this procedure, oil change at 500 miles, then its good if memory serves me

No need for the link, I've got it right here: http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

Thanks for the info everyone. Her car is due in on the 20th but I expect it should be in at least a few days before.

I went in thinking that the dealer would play hardball and it would be tough to get even $1000 below MSRP - I was a little surprised when they accepted the offer $1435 below and can't help but think that I left a little bit on the table. Although I still don't think we could have gone much lower . . . maybe a couple hundred dollars. Keep giving feedback, people!

I got a no haggle quote for $28,035 before TTT in the Northern Va/DC metro area. My plan was to take that to other dealers and see what they can do.
