Hi i am newbie here and i am looking to get a new(used) car. I am looking at 2005 accord 4cyl and rsx type s. I am planning to participate in Auto X with one of these and so i am looking to do some sort of suspension upgrade especailly if i get accord. I was wondering how accord handles after mods. i am planning to do some coilover(prob tein) and swaybar(prob TL). I ahve to use this as a daily driver as well so i like to go with accord coupe for addtional room. I know types s is alot faster and better hadling car than accord but if i get type s i wont be able to do anythingto it for a while due to the higher price.

so it comes down to accord 4cyl with coilover and swaybar, better tires vs stock rsx type s as daily/weekend auto x car

Any suggestions?

 

most experienced auto-xers would say go stock then upgrade from there.

there is a learning curve for any beginner....the car won't help because of classing.

 

As he stated above just leave the car stock. I believe a person new to autocrossing will learn faster in a stock car than in a modified car. A modified car can hide bad driving techniques AND bite you in the butt if you have some extreme mods.
