Just wondering where my heating controls should be when im cooling the car down and when im out at the autocross:confused:
If overheating is a concern, run the heater. If it's not, run it as you would driving around the street.
I heard using your A/C can make driving smoother and I know this as a fact as it becomes very apparent in my dinosauric car when you run A/C, must smoother driving.
That has to do with available power at the wheels, not cooling of the engine.
Is he talking about cooling the car while hes driving or while he's parked before the race?
Cooling off the engine after a hard autocross run, and what heater setting he should have for best performance on the course. At least that's how I read it...
If you're a tru hardco auto-xer, run the heater full blast max heat during your auto-x run...during the summer! :oh:
Pressing the AC during your auto-x run reduces the power to your wheels, which for n00bs like meeh translates to focusing on turning versus gunning it on the straights = better times. Shingo |
If it's after the race why not just pop the hood and let out the heat?
I turn my A/C on (which forces the compressor on) and full heat for about 5 minutes. I also spray the radiator and throttle body with water.
I meant cooling both when racing and when parked is what I meant sorry for the miscommunication :)
