Default New August FastTrack published.....

Taken from Washington DC forum:

Just published.. lots of interesting proposed class changes that people
should take a look at.. specifically some Stock also-rans moving down,
and boost control being allowed in SP and the subsequent changes that
may require.

Yeah the biggest rule changes were GS Hondas going into HS. 99-05 Civic Si, RSX base.

01.01.06. all rules go into effect.

I'm glad to see the GS-HS moves, I think it will re-open HS from under the 'other' mini. I'd have like to see the MiniS go to DS, though, I think it is as competitive as an ITR. I think that would have re-opened GS to the Celica GTS and some other, older cars to be more competitive.

I wasn't pleased with the "for member comment" AS C4 Corvettes going to SS. I'd been looking into one, driven one locally and it was a lot of fun.

I wrote my letters.

I would love it if the 6 were more competive. As it stands I dont see how the SI is going to be beatable in that class. (among other cars)

btw my understanding is that these were only proposed changes, they seemed pretty substantial to actually happen.

I had an interesting conversation with ont SEB/STAC member this weekend regarding the changes. MOST of the class shuffling proposals are serious, and only a couple were thrown in as 'very hypotheticals'.
If you have any opinion on any of it, and are a member, write a well reasoned letter to the SEB: seb@scca.com
The more they hear from the membership the more information they have with regards to what the members are expecting/want.

The HS Mini is still going to be the car to beat, I think the 99-00 Si will defiantly be a real threat, and the 94-97 Celica ST will also be even more of a threat, That car was very successfully campaigned in the stock class's before the last re-org and won 2 HS National Championships and 1 GS national championships after the re-org.

I don't think the 99-00/02-05 Civic Si is going to be that much more competitive although more competitive than it was in GS. Problem being is that the Mini Cooper you can get 16 and 17" wheels I believe. You can fit some wide tires on there. The 99-00 Civic Si comes with skinny butt 15x6" wheels. Which you can only fit realistically 225/45x15" tires on them with a spacer.
