If I am a little behind please slap me
I know CicSiRacer has laid it out for me before, but can you guys make a sticky with the basic rules of auto-x and each class. I may be going in halfs on a pure racing 88 ef hatch with a buddy of mine soon and would like to stay in the lower class for a while til skills improve.
also some ideas about the ef would help. we plan on a full interior strip except the two front seats. if the a/c works and ps existed then we're keeping that. are lighter wheels affordable for the car or are they already light as hell? are parts any cheaper? is the ef worth eating at some of my ek's mod money?

Full interior strip sends you to Prepared class. Where you would get spanked
What is done to the car right now?

I so much agree with that. People get the wrong impression about autocross. The more mods you have the faster you will go, which is totally opposite of drag racing.
Doing a simple mod like an intake bumps you to Street Prepared, Prepared, mod, and the STS classes. Those classes people are forking out $2000 for one shock, and paying $1000 to get 1-2 hp
