Is it a Manga? It looks like it.

Hentai is the Japanese word for abnormal... and can also be used to call someone a pervert. It has become American slang for general sex pictures. Doujinshi or doujin means in manga (comic book) form specifically.

But none of it ACTUALLY means what most people use it for, so it wouldn't surprise me if A) a Japanese person labeled it doujin or B) an American person is just an idiot.

In Japan, doujinshi is a fan-published comic. IE: Not drawn by the original artists.

It looks more like that. They're coming straight from Japan, the Ebay listing was in Engrish. :) Basically.. the style of drawings, they're based EXACTLY on the musical version of Phantom. And there's NO WAY IN HELL that those holding the copyright would let that happen.

So.. it's like.. fan art.. and fan fiction, basically?

I would say almost like a fanzine, because sometimes there's other stuff in there too. One group of people will put together short series.
