What to do.

My friend that owns a Vette already killed his transmission once by driving like a dickwad. I talked to him last night and he still refuses to believe me when I tell him shifting into first when he is still moving isn't going to do his transmission any good. He just doesn't get it and maybe I should just shut up and laugh when he kills this transmission again.

What to do? Absolutely nothing.

Sometimes it's better not to say anything at all.

I know but I just think at times you gotta educate idiots.

TheOtherDave™ 09-04-2003 04:15 PM

Most of the time, you'll realize people only can learn the hard way.

He'll be driving on a flat road at about 20 mph and then shifts into first without stopping first. I told him that unless its a very steep hill not to do that and by doing so he's killing the transmission. He sometimes has a hard time finding first and usually grinds the gear in or just starts from second, didn't believe that letting the clutch out and clutching it will solve that issue.

TheOtherDave™ 09-04-2003 04:21 PM

So he's not using the clutch once the car is in motion....!?!! :wtf::eh::eekno:

I wouldn't even get into the car with a driver like that. *shakes head*

No he uses the clutch, he just isn't a great driver and thinks he is car smart. Heck he recommended changing the grade of gas to a friend of his who said her car just didn't want to go.

Oh, so he's thinks he's all that, when he don't know shiet.

Please tell me the Vette in question is some 1970's, clapped-out C3 -:wtc:- not a new C5. Please. :squint:
