Default F1 2003

With 4 races left who's your money on?

I think JP Montoya will win the championship. Ferrari is struggling with the Bridgestone tires, which surprises me since they are supposed to have a special program with Bridgestone developing tires.

Bridgestone has been developing compounds strictly for Ferrari since last year I believe. But yeah, the Michelin-shod cars are proving to be stronger. It's just that the overall Ferrari package is just that damn good.

I think Ferrari needs to switch, Michelin proved this year that they are the tire to beat. Last year Ferrari pretty much walked over the competition and were winners in both driver and constructor's championship halfway through. This year no one knows who is gonna win. I also think Schumacher has had a lot of bad luck. First race he got the drive through for the barge boards, yet during one of the other races both Ralf and JPM raced with busted and lose mirrors and didn't have to take drive throughs. Then the last race he was in 2nd when he blew a tire and pretty much toasted his chances.

Yeah, it's just a lot of bad luck for the Ferrari guys... Shit happens. If we have a new champ, then I'm happy. Change is good.

It's true though..... Michelin is really the better dry tire, hands down. The Bridgestones still own in the wet though.

I agree on the wet/dry theory, but here is my thing... MS has proved that he is the best driver in the world. Now if the rules f*ck with him and prevent him from winning then we got a problem. JPM, Kimi and Ralf are great drivers but they don't have the MS finesse going. Look at the single lap qualifying, its based on luck and getting one lap down right. A lot of times drivers can make a marginal error and end up with a bad grid position, a track like Monaco where its impossible to pass means that as long as you play the fuel game right you've won. F1 was supposed to be about the driver and its slowly becoming like Nascar with fuel strategy.

Bump

Just found out that Fernando Alonso won in Hungary. Youngest driver to ever win a GP. Rookie of the year fo sho! He'll be a contender next year.

I am proud of Alonso, but I think Brigdestone really needs to step up to the plate. Barichello was going good until his rear axle failed, thats kinda surprising for a Ferrari.

This has been a really exciting F1 season. I'm putting my money on Kimi Raikkonen to win the World Championship. I know he's made a few mistakes as of late, but I really think that Schumacher and Montoya are going to end up crashing each other out of one of the next races. Although, at the next race in Monza I expect one of the Williams cars to win since it's a horsepower track.
