Default For the post doc's or Nurses got a ?

Well like i posted i went to the range this week, it was fun and all but yea i got a phat ass bruise on my arm, upper bycept (sp?) and yea we all did the same amount of rounds...so i showed my friend and she freaked out...it was the size of a peach and it was all bruised like bloody type bruise..i thought it was normal but she said i should get it checked out...she did the same amount of rounds as me and no bruise..then i went to my sister's house and she did the same too, she got a peach size bruise that is almost gone..and her husband's tiny bruise is gone too...but mines is huge...this guy that works at the gym was their too and he said it might be some magnisium deficiency...said mag helps circulate the blood and stuff so maybe its not doin it right or stuff like that? i'm just wonderin if that oculd be it or something else causein that or if its just normal part of my body..I"m gonna call the advise nurse next week and see what she says.

did you hold the gun butt flush against your arm/shoulder? If not, that would bruise the hell out of your arm. Even if you did, the chances of getting a bruise are very common. Just give it awhile, if it gets any worse then you might wanna get an apointment with a doctor.

yea the butt was rested on my bycept instead of my shoulder...i'm short and it was a big gun hehe...like i know its reasonable to get a bruise but i just dont understand why mines is so HUGE i sear its about 3 inches by 3 inches...and everyone else had like a .5 inch by like .5 inch bruise that are all gone now...but yea cool i guess.

I called the advise nurse yesterday...it appears it is so big because i'm talking aspirin and that is a blood thinner, so i bleed more and with the impact of the gun of course its like internal bleeding without breakin the flesh...so thats a lil bit of a relief...the bruise is still there and still big.

magnesium story... yeah, sure... maybe if you hadn't had any magnesium in the last 4 years, then that COULD be the source of it...

Asprin is a potential culprit, if the darkened region of the bruise is spreading, but not the "pain region." However, that, in itself, isn't going to spread it too much.

It all comes down to where the bruise is located. Its likely that you hit the bicep/tricep circulation branch, which could explain the high degree of internal blood loss, but someone would have to look at it to be sure...(i can't see your bruise, cant tell ya) Just give your lymphatic system some time to recover the lost blood, it'll go away... Might be an ugly yellow-green color first, though
