I was thinking about doing the same thing, kinda for fun and 'cause I have a bunch of old 'puter parts laying around. But, I couldn't think of what I'd actually use it for... What are your plans for yours?
|
ive been wanting to do this too...
why are there noises in ur system?? what do you think cause it?? and with no monitor...how do you use ur computer at all?? use the lil lcd?? |
The noise is interference from the DC-AC invertor, it's fine if there's a small load on it (like under 50W) but once I put a larger load on it, my speakers buzz (even when playing CD's, so I know it's not my aux input cables).
Right now I just have winamp autoload and start playing my full playlist on shuffle when the pc boots. In the future I'll add a regular LCD screen, keyboard, and a DVD drive. |
So you use an invertor and then a computer power supply, which inverts the voltage again? :p
Also, are you using motherboard risers? That looks awfully close to the interior. |
would a better ad-dc power inverter solve the problem??
maybe the 300 watt inverter?? |
I'm going to cut out the whole DC-AC/AC-DC conversion and get a DC ATX power supply.
For mounting the mobo, I cut the side out of a normal case and bolted it to the back of the seat, then used standard computer screws and risers on the mobo. |
