Default Home networking experts...i need your help

I need help with possible networking. My roommates and I are getting DSL in our college apartment. Does the computer just need to be connected to a phone jack or is ONE computer only connected and the rest have to be networked.

If I do have to network, what do I need to buy to setup the network to share among a possible 4 computers?

the BRIDGE is connected to the phone jack. your modem wont know what the shit to do with a dsl port.

i would get an inexpensive router, (NOT dlink) with built in 4 port switch. you would connect this via ethernet to your provided DSL bridge, and via ethernet to up to 4 other computers. obviously if you have more than 4 get a larger switch + router.

ahh...so the BRIDGE is the DSL "modem"? So I would need to connect the BRIDGE to a router and then connect via ethernet cables to each computers network card?

and depending where your computers are, you might need a wireless router and wireless network cards....unless you don't mind lots of cords running through your place.

I'm going through the same thing when I move into my new place.
