anyone have one? or know of people that do? i can get a good price on one and just want to make sure they aren't crappy

I've got a compaq, which is basically the same computer with a different label (think acura/honda).

Definently good computers.

My brother bought an HP. I tried to get him to buy a toshiba, but he liked all the blue lights and flashy buttons on the HP.

The only problem he has, is with the touchpad. He normally has a trackball hooked up to it at home, but when he's travelling and uses just the touchpad, he has to wait a few minutes after boot-up before it'll respond.

when i had my HP laptop, it was great. but HP is a shady company. they refuse to honor my $100 mir. go toshiba.

basically with what i've seen. the hard drives are harder to access on an hp (hidden) where as on a toshiba you just unscrew two screws and slide it out on a tray. not that you would constantly change out your hd but if you do. thats something to consider.
