Um, okay, IE is stupid.
 

Whenever I save a image off the net it saves as a .bmp no matter what. No other file types are available. This is only at work though...wtf :(.

maybe it has been limited. Can you not change the type when you save it?

Sometimes if it was uploaded as a .bmp it may not save as another format.

Well I can just copy it into Photoshop and save it as .jpg or .gif, but it never used to do this and I'm too lazy to figure out why it does.

edit: It's a bug in IE. When certian something happens to the temporary internet files, it doesn't always save properly. Clear em, reboot and you'll probably be fine. I've had to do it 3 times in the past year or so, so it's not something that's frequent.
